In the 6th century BC China was still composed of the feudal monarchy and government official, competing with each other for supremacy. Kong Qiu (Chow Yun-Fat) was born in the Kingdom of Lu, in which the court decided that the name and the real power down to the three most powerful ruling group. Qiu Kong’s reputation as a social and cultural thinkers to make Lu appointed to ministerial office work, where he has scored some brilliant success in restoring the dignity and authority of the Court. His efforts to control the ambitions of powerful groups are also successful, but Lu army (led by the young general Gongshan Niu) turned against him and the monarch bribed Qi Lu to make a ruling against the minister. Kong Qiu was stripped of his office and sent into exile. He is old as a wanderer, traveling from kingdom to another kingdom, followed by party loyalists, led by Yan Hui.
